Bostich Finish nailer hanging up

I've only used a few pneumatics in my time & one that was doing the same thing, turned out to need a re-build. Here's one place to find parts or maybe a re-build kit. The owner of the tool tried lubrication, but it didn't do anything. I was told at the time, by another carpenter, that any abnormal behavior is the beginning signs of gasket wear.

So, I got a re-build kit from a non-local heck of a haul Bostitch dealer/distributor. Due to, my local Vac & Sew place only doing staplers & the Electronics & Power Equipment Repair places not doing pneumatics at all. A new spring here & a new seal, there, there, there & there. And, the problem was gone forever, as far as I knew, & the tool owner was pleased as...

We see tools as having two types of features. The first is when an engineer says, "hey, here's a little free space on the tool, let's add a (fill in the blank with a useless feature)!" The other kind of feature is one that stems directly from the needs of the person using the tool. They make work faster, easier and more efficient. The new Bostitch gun might have more features than we've ever seen on a single tool and in a somewhat amazing feat, they are all fully integrated into the design and, astonishingly, every single one lands in the second category.

Honestly, we don't even know where to start with this gun. Should we start with the LED that shines on the nose of the gun with the push of a button? Or maybe with the little blowgun that can clear dust and debris off your workpiece? No, you know what? We're going to start with the on-board pencil sharpener. No joke, there's a pencil sharpener at the base of the magazine. The cool part is that we were about three...

An idea borrowed from the bloody trenches of WWII. A famous newsman potentially being held-up on a crowded train. And a perfectly-timed assist from the president of Skippy brand peanut butter.

Sound like the start of a paperback thriller? Actually, it's all part of the story of how the nail gun came into existence.

In the mid-1950s, a group of friends in Winsted, Minnesota, were drinking beer and ruminating on how they could be drinking more beer if they only had more money. One of the men, a carpenter named Reuben Miller, brought up the idea of an automatic nailer that would work like the machine guns the men had encountered in WWII.

Soon, Miller and two pals had developed and patented six workable models of their new nail gun. Now all they needed was money.

Fate would soon lend them a hand in that department. One day, the group met a man in a bar, and he grew interested when they discussed their nail gun prototype. They demonstrated their new...

ayrow69: This is horrible review. I want my 7 minutes back.

Paul Wright: I have 4 of these nailers, different gauges and angles, Issue is that 3 of the 4 have stopped firing and only fart rather than firing a nail. I have taken them apart, changed gas and batteries to no avail. The 4th one now has a jam that I could not clear so basically 4 out of 4 no longer work properly. I am waiting patiently for the Milwaukee battery operated nailers to come out May 2016. Until then I am back to using the compressor

dheadley111: These guys need to go back to flipping burgers and serving fries.

Tools In Action: Two batteries is key.

Wayne Burgess: I bought both and the space they save in your van/truck No compressor and the setting up time you save make them well worth the price and buying the gas. But again would only buy with lithium ion batteries.Unlike most Hitachi give you 2 with the tool and cleaning them and servicing them is easy as pie. :)
