Calculating the size for an a/c compressor

I'm writing an article about the Census Bureau's population projections through 2060, which consists of a 3.3 MB .csv file when uncompressed.

The file consists of 539,781 values, each of which is 5-7 digits, and takes up 3,455,372 characters. When I gzip the file it comes down to 1550063 bytes, or 1.47 MB.

I want to be able to truthfully state that it would fit on a 3.5-inch floppy, max capacity 1.44 MB. This is just a reference point, not advice to a user that requires instructions on how to do so.

Is there a way to calculate the theoretical size of a text file based on the character count above? If we actually had a 3.5-inch floppy and a drive for it, would it be possible to get this file on the disk without information loss?...

If I look at my repo for a particular job and see a size for my latest VBK, I can add up the restore points to keep, multiply by the size of the latest VBK and that will give me my GFS storage requirements?

Latest VBK for a job = 365GB

Monthly = 11
Yearly = 1
Total = 15

Does it follow that for a year the GFS retention will equal 3+11+1*365GB/1024=5.34TB? And double that for 2 years?

If so, how does Server2012 dedup come into play when we are planning the physical storage for this? Will that yearly 5.34TB be deduped 50% (conservative estimate) and require that I have a minimum of 2.67TB of storage for a year just for GFS? Or will dedup do a better job on all these...

Can someone guide me how to formulate a multiple stage compressor in terms of intake air mass flow rate, specific work of each stage and other parameters. In this problem, I only have the available electricity to be used by the compressors and the compression ration of each stage which is constant and equal for all and just nothing else.
