A modern convenience people often overlook is the common refrigerator ice maker. The unit works tirelessly around the clock, diligently performing the task it was designed to do. When your ice maker line develops even the smallest leak, however, it can cause serious damage to your home if left unchecked. Over time, the leak can penetrate and swell hardwood flooring, ruin carpeting and even discolor tile grout. Heavy leaks can also damage drywall, baseboards and cabinetry. When the ice maker line starts to fail, given these circumstances, it is best to replace the line with a new one.

Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the appliance at the circuit breaker box.

Pull the refrigerator away from the wall and turn off the water supplying the ice maker. Most ice maker supply lines are attached to a shutoff valve or piercing valve located under the kitchen sink or behind the refrigerator.

Loosen the compression nut securing the supply line to the refrigerator's water...

Good service!! Review by Charlie Rogers

It is an awesome filtration system. APEC customer service is awesome. The permeate pump makes too much noises, I called their customer service and they help me found the issue and now the systems works near silent. My tap water ppm before filtration was 513 ppm, after installing the system, it went down to 39 ppm (Posted on 5/17/2016)

Installed it myself Review by Mark T

Thanks for a really nice product. I have well water and used bottled water - but I really was bothered with all that plastic going in the recycle bin week after week - so, I ordered and installed the RO Perm system. If you are patient, you should not have a problem installing the system. The instructions are accurate. I am lucky in that my laundry room is directly below the kitchen - so, I simply ordered a bit of extra tubing to feed to the faucet and was able to have the entire unit in the room below (mounted on the wall of the...

Ken, Thank you for the info. Everything is working beautifully. I wanted to fill you in. It took me about 2 hours today run the water lines under the house from the kitchen to the garage and connect them. I can't hear the pump from inside the house and and there is no vibration through the wall when it runs. There is no sound from the drain water under the sink. I'm getting great water pressure out of the RO faucet. If you stand next to the sink in my kitchen you would have no idea the system was there except I have the extra faucet. There are no leaks anywhere. I tested my city water is and it's at 100ppm and smells like Clorine. My clean water out of the RO faucet tests at 3ppm and has no smell. Thank you for making this purchase such a success for...

The UV lamp comes with it's own 'ice-cream' cone shaped hose connectors, but generally they are for 1" or larger hoses and it extends out too far to look cool so it's nicer to make a custom cap which reduces the form factor.

You should have laser cut the cap from the previous step. It can be seen in the picture on the right, next to the lock nut and brass union.

! the cap should actually be made from something that's UVC resistant as Acrylic will allow for the transmission of harmful UV rays. PTFE is one option and the same material that the teflon tape is made from as is PVC (but you shouldn't vaporize it/laser cut it because it's harmful to your health to breathe and so don't let it into the environment either). A very simple solution would just be to coat it in several layers of white paint containing titanium dioxide which is basically where the pigment comes from. Do this for both the inner and out layer to ensure good protection. Machining this component into...
